In this part of the book it talked about an idea of a utopia.  Utopia basically is an ideology that everything in society is perfect.  It is relatively impossible to ever obtain a utopia because everybody has different beliefs about things, and this tends to cause a conflict between two opposing parties with different ideas.  This can be seen with the current political situation.  It is a shame that everybody cannot get along because otherwise this would make everyday society better for everybody all together.  In the books humans were trying to detach themselves so that they would have no emotions about anything at all.  Deaths were also removed from children's books because they felt it was wrong to expose children to this.  Personally, I think that death should not be withheld from children because it is the inevitable, and unfortunately, children will have to face death sooner or later

One thing that we talked about was the amount of technology that was in schools, and some of the pros and cons of both.  Of course technology is only going to get more advanced as the years progress, but with this there are cons.  For one everybody seems to be relying on technology now days, and I think that people tend to lose touch with regular books or other reading materials.  Another thing is that technology can always break, and it only runs on battery life.  If your laptop or tablet or whatever dies you will lose all of your data, until it is charged again.  These technologies also have to go through system updates every now, and then which can interfere with the process of learning.  One big con is that technology can be very expensive to handle/maintain
.  The biggest thing for me is the wear and tear that is going to have on your eyes over time.  It can not be good for your eyes to be staring at a computer screen all day long.

As far as the cons for technology go it can be faster for students to type on a keyboard rather than write with a pen/pencil and paper.  Being able to type faster means that students will be able to get more work done over time.  Technology also allows students and teachers to obtain, and send data more easily.  Students can easily send assignment to teachers, and teachers can easily send reading material or anything else to students.  Students will also no longer have to carry any books, instead all they will have to carry is a laptop, tablet, etc.  This in turns makes the load that students have to carry much lighter which can prevent a lesser chance of injury.
